Feminismy > Feminismus
]
First meeting Monday 17 February 2003, 15.50-17.25, FF UK Hybernská 3, room 205
(It is hoped that the course can be scheduled on alternate Mondays from 17.30 to 19.30, details will be discussed at the first meeting)
Taught by Dr. Dagmar Lorenz-Meyer, dagmar.lorenz-meyer@ff.cuni.cz
This seminar provides a forum for students who work on their final project with a gender focus to critically, openly and constructively discuss their research in progress both at the stage of planning and carrying it out. In addition we will refocus and deepen selected issues in feminist epistemology and methodology. The course particularly addresses students who have taken the methodology classes in the previous three semesters but is open to new students as well.
Students who will present their work in progress will be required to circulate a 4-5 page outline either on their research proposal (specifying research questions, relevant concepts and the research design) or on specific problems that they encounter in their research to all participants a week in advance.
Students who do not present their own work will be asked to give short presentations on topics of their interest. Themes will include the status of activism in feminist research, the representation of others and ourselves in the research, group interviews, and the method of feminist historiography and discourse analysis.
The course will start on Monday 17 February 2003.
